A hospital built to feel calm
Calm, careful medicine for the animals you love — and people who answer when it matters.
Cedarsong opened in 2011 in a converted SE Portland storefront with one exam room, a quiet conviction, and a cedar tree out front. The conviction: an animal hospital should feel calm — for the dog on the table, the cat in the carrier, and the person holding the leash. Fourteen years on we are an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free certified team of licensed veterinarians and technicians who still practice slow, careful medicine, explain every recommendation in plain language, and treat your pet the way we treat our own.
What we believe
A vet visit is a relationship, not a transaction. We practice slow, careful medicine, explain the “why” in plain language, give you a written estimate before any care beyond the exam, and treat every animal the way we treat our own. When you’re worried, you should be able to reach a real person — so you can.
Accredited & certified
Cedarsong Animal Hospital is a licensed veterinary practice (OR Vet Board #VCH-4471); our veterinarians are DVMs licensed by the Oregon Veterinary Medical Board. License and accreditation numbers shown are illustrative for this template. We’re proud to be among the smaller share of US practices that earn AAHA accreditation, and our entire team is Fear Free certified in low-stress handling.
What we put our name to.
Fear Free, always
Treats, pheromones, gentle handling, and time. We work at your pet’s pace — never force a frightened animal.
A written estimate first
You approve a clear estimate before anything beyond the exam. No surprise invoices, ever.
Plain-language medicine
We explain the why, the options, and the costs in words that make sense — and answer your questions.
Same-day for the sick
A pet who’s truly unwell gets seen the same day during open hours, or routed to the ER if we’re closed.
A plan after hours
When we’re closed you’re never alone — an urgent line, a triage guide, and a direct ER referral.
